The Russian military carried out two missile strikes on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Monday morning, Governor Ivan Fedorov reported.
According to Fedorov, the attack set fire to multiple shops and a public transport stop, damaged a passenger minibus, and struck both residential buildings and an industrial facility.
He later confirmed that three people were killed and at least 20 others wounded. According to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, one of the injured was pulled from a crater left by the strike and was being resuscitated after sustaining severe burns.
Update: Ukraine’s State Emergency Service later revised the number of injured to 30.
The attack came just hours before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and several European leaders are set to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington to discuss the war.
