Police raid Baku office of Russian state media agency Sputnik Azerbaijan

Police raided the Baku office of the Russian media agency Sputnik Azerbaijan on Monday, according to local media reports citing the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry.

Law enforcement reportedly took control of the building. Police said more information about the search would be released later.

The news outlet Qafqazinfo notes that Sputnik Azerbaijan, part of the Russian state-run propaganda network Rossiya Segodnya, had previously been officially suspended in Azerbaijan. Despite this, the office remained active, and staff continued to show up for work, the outlet reports.
