On Tuesday, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported two ATACMS missile strikes by Ukraine over the preceding three days against targets in the Kursk region. On Saturday, November 23, Ukraine fired five of these rockets at an S-400 air defense missile division near the town of Lotarevka. Russian officials claim they intercepted three missiles, and the other two hit their targets, damaging a radar station and injuring an unspecified number of soldiers.
The second reported strike occurred on Monday, November 25, targeting the Kursk-Vostochny airfield in Khalino. Ukrainian forces launched eight ATACMS missiles, seven of which were supposedly intercepted, with one reaching its target. “Falling missile fragments caused minor injuries to two servicemen, and infrastructure suffered slight damage,” said Russia’s military, warning that “retaliatory actions” will follow.
Russian officials also shared photos of missile debris recovered from Lotarevka and the Kursk-Vostochny airfield. Pro-invasion Telegram channels reported the latter ATACMS attack a day before the Defense Ministry acknowledged it.
