Russian opposition politician and journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza, who was transferred to an unknown location from a Moscow “punishment cell” in early September, is now located in a penal colony in Omsk.
Kara-Murza’s lawyer Vadim Prokhorov said that it took approximately three weeks to transfer him. He was held in detention centers in Samara, Penza, Chelyabinsk, and Omsk regions along the way to the penal colony.
In a letter to his lawyers, Kara-Murza said that he was sent to a “punishment cell” as soon as he arrived to the penal colony in Omsk on September 21. The politician was punished for an offense allegedly committed in another “punishment cell” in Omsk, notes his lawyer.
