A Moscow court has granted prosecutors’ request to extend the arrest of opposition politician Ilya Yashin until November 26, according to TASS. Yashin was charged with spreading “disinformation” about the Russian army in July.

According to his own Telegram channel, Yashin made a speech in court in which he said the following:

You’ve been holding me in prison for four months now. It seems like not long ago that I was arrested, but look at how much has changed in that time.

When it was still summer, any criticism of the military’s leadership was equated with crime. It didn’t even have to be criticism — just expressing doubt in the generals’ complete innocence could put you behind bars. Every statement made by Shoigu and Konashenkov was presented as the ultimate truth, while dissenters were made out to be state criminals.

But what do we see now? United Russia deputies in the State Duma are openly accusing the Defense Ministry of lying and corruption. Prigozhin, surrounding himself with armed convicts, is destroying the Russian army and ridiculing its command. Kadyrov is calling the generals incompetent and brazenly telling them how to fight. Propagandists on TV are going along with all of it and hinting that there are traitors in the General Staff.
