Russian forces launched a massive strike on Kyiv in the early hours of Monday, using both missiles and drones. According to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city’s military administration, one person was killed and eight others were injured. He said residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure were among the targets.

The Darnytskyi district was hit hardest, with fires breaking out at a kindergarten, a supermarket, warehouses, and other non-residential buildings. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a multi-story apartment building and the Lukianivska metro station were damaged.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russian forces launched a total of 426 drones — including both attack drones and decoys — along with 24 missiles of various types during the assault. Ukrainian air defenses reportedly shot down 200 Shahed drones and “the vast majority” of the missiles. An additional 203 drone decoys failed to reach their targets, the military said.
